I first got into paper flowers when I was planning my wedding. My dad is allergic to a lot of flowers and I really wanted to include poppies in my bouquet – a notoriously difficult flower to keep from wilting. I eventually landed on crepe paper flowers as the best solution ◡̈
I love making them now to keep around the house! It’s nice having flowers I don’t have to remember to water or worry about the cat eating!
Want to make your own?
If you haven’t made paper florals before, I’m happy to share what I know!
You can also check out the free tutorials on Lia Griffith’s page – I used her tutorials almost exclusively for my wedding florals ◡̈
Materials I’d Recommend:
- Crepe Paper
- Floral Wire
- Tacky Glue (I love Aleenes)
- Some people use hot glue, but I’d caution you against it… too easy to burn your fingers!
- Sharp Scissors
